If you’ve ever been to a spa for a day of treatments, you’ll know how great you felt afterwards. Your mind and body are both treated to a truly indulgent experience. The relaxation you feel helps to alleviate stress and reduce the levels of toxins in the blood.  They can however be a little expensive and given the current economy, treating yourself to a spa treatment at the local health spa may not be an option.  You don’t have to miss out though. You can recreate a lovely spa day in your very own home for next to nothing. Here’s how -

Ambiance. Get the mood right and you’ll stand the best chance of achieving a relaxed state. Light a good number of candles and scatter them around the room. Make sure you turn down any bright harsh lights. Make sure that the room is a comfortable temperature so that your muscles don’t tighten up.relaxing music should be played and you should have some scent being released into the room. Your smell is one of your most sensitive receptors and by burning some incense or using aromatherapy candles, you can reach another level or calm.

Wash. Your first step in any treatment should be to wash you skin. This will get rid of any dead skin cells and remove any dirt that may have built up on the skin surface. Be careful not to be too aggressive with the skin, it is not necessary. Just wipe over all over the skin using a soft cloth and some clean water.

Facial. You don’t have to always fork out lots of money for an extensive skin care facial. There are few ingredients you can find around the house that do a pretty good job themselves. Mix an egg white in with olive oil and some honey and apply to the face. The white from eggs will tone the skin can condition at the same time, olive oil locks in moisture and honey has been used as an antiseptic for centuries. Leave it on for about 15 minutes and wash off properly to reveal your new revitalised skin
